Greetings everyone, our 2008 Third Thursday meetup series is set to kick off next month (please note, there will be *no* March meetup).
For our first meetup of the year, we've invited bloggers from eBay, Sony PlayStation and Yahoo! to join us in a discussion and examination of the state of corporate blogging.
Nicki Dugan from Yahoo! has been driving Yahoo!'s Yodel Anecdotal blog for nearly two years, and will speak to lessons learned and some of the best practices she and her team have developed over this stretch. Likewise, Jeff Rubenstein with Sony Computer Entertainment America, will discuss his day-to-day involvement and experiences with Sony's PlayStation blog. Finally, Richard Brewer-Hay, eBay's new editor-in-chief, will share his initial thoughts around eBay's upcoming corporate blogging efforts.
Each panelist has a very unique perspective on the role of blogs insider their organizations, it should make for a lively discussion. Room will be limited, so please RSVP soon.
Also, two additional announcements:
For our May Third Thursday Meetup, we're excited to share news that Charlene Li, Principal Analyst for Forrester and co-author of Groundswell, a new book examining the impact of social media in business, will be joining us to discuss the book and its findings in more detail. More info on this meetup will be posted shortly. Again, space is limited, so please RSVP.
Finally, co-producer of Third Thursdays, the Society for New Communications Research, is hosting its fourth annual New Communications Forum next month in Santa Rosa. This is an amazing conference for business folks interested in stretching their understanding and application of new media in business. SNCR has providing all Third Thursday members with a $100 discount on registrations. Please use this code (NCF08100).
Some great stuff on the horizon, thanks everyone.
